Barshem is a true Bronx tale; still in the making. In the mid 90s, Barshem started the group known as Alpha Omega. The group opened up for some of the industrys hottest acts; Jay Z, Lil Kim, Big Pun and Fat Joe, just to name a few. Surprisingly, Barshem's first real taste of fame came in film not music as a result of being at the right place at the right time. A movie producer stepped to him and as him to work aside Tupac in the movie "Above the Rim". Film roles turned to stage work and stage turned to television. Eventually Barshem used this as a vehicle to meet some of the industry's top directors and producers and use his music talennts to land soundtrack work for movies such as Rock the Paint, Marci X, Bulls Night Out and Full Clip. All along Barshem has been busy in the studio working on his solo debut. Barshem has recently been awarded a US congressional medal of honor (the first for a hip-hop artist) for his contribution to hiphop and to the Bronx with his anthem "BX", the first cut from the album to be leaked to the public.
