"Clockwatching"...lifted from turntable soul act Belleruche's new album displays a louder, raw, more mature and aggressive sound. Driving drums with a chasing bass, off the radar bleeps that fight with the doo-woop vocal lines, and a guitar solo channeled backwards through a red transistor radio with a 5 inch cone give a perfect sneak peak into their new album, '270 Stories' which drops later this year. The B side of this delectable 7" includes a cover of The Beats "Mirror In The Bathroom", which shows a more abstract and electronic direction from the band.

Belleruche's distinctive sound is a self-styled brand of handmade hip- hop blues soul: think Sarah Vaughan, Django Reinhardt and Cut Chemist stuck in a basement studio with Russian beer and a sampler.

The trio have been touring extensively across Europe and beyond with plans to hit the States in November. Belleruche singer Kathrin deBoer also fronts the Bonobo live band, with whom she has toured and played major festivals. Their many gigs have led them to recently share the bill with De La Soul.
