Live It Up
Kako was one of the most popular and important bandleaders in New York in the 60's. After playing percussion with a who's who list of big bands , Kako formed his own combo. He also became an integral part of Alegre Records scouting talent. In the mid 60's he recorded this wonderful album for West Side Latino entitled Live It Up. The album features Panamanian vocalist Azuquita. As one would imagine it is a percussion - laden combination of Latin grooves ranging from Mambo, to Guajira and even includes some Boogaloo which was the hottest sound at the time.
