Description
Latin jazz master Pucho Brown was one of the great rediscoveries of acid jazz. His Got Myself A Good Man defined the sound and he has toured of the back of its success ever since. Only three of his seven Prestige albums have been reissued, something that BGP will begin to rectify with these two late 60s albums.

Big Stick has a mix of Latin, soul and jazz and features the talents of pianist Neil Creque. Unusually for Pucho records there is no horn section which allows the vocal chorus and the percussion to shine through. Swamp People and Left In The Cold make this a highly collectable album.

Dateline does include a horn section and Pazant Brothers and Fania All-Stars member Barry Rogers creates a vibrant front line to make up for the fact that there were no vocals on this LP. This album is the absolute peak of Pucho's recording career, and the wonderful Yambo would still fill a dancefloor.

This two-on-one is remastered from the original sources and comes with sleeve notes by project supervisor Dean Rudland.
