Description
Showoff and Brick Records have done it again, teaming a Lawrence, MA fire-spitter with the legendary talents of super producer DJ Premier. First it was Termanology and Preem getting together on the now-classic singles "Watch How It Go Down" and "So Amazing" and now it's REKS' turn to make another Premier-laced anthem with "Say Goodnight." And it does anything but disappoint with a B-Side that ain't no joke with DJ/producer Statik Selektah remixing REKS "Big Dreamers" which appeared on Statik's own critically acclaimed Spell My Name Right: The Album. This time around, on the Lawtown Remix, Lawrence rhyme sayers Termanology and Krumb Snatcha make an appearance for this dedication to the late, great MC Scientifik. And the bonus cut, "Pray For Me," is a relentless rant that takes aim at the entire industry... a song not to be missed.

With a single full of lyrical ferocity and quality production, REKS is ready to release his sophomore studio album, Grey Hairs. Packed with tracks that are both controversial and conscious, Grey Hairs features an all-star production team that leads off with the legendary DJ Premier and includes Hip Hop producer heavyweight Large Professor, Blaze P, DC The Midi Alien, Soul Theory, DEMOBeatz, 1914 and of course ten tracks by Showoff's own Statik Selektah. Guest appearances include Consequence, Skyzoo, Krumb Snatcha, Termanology, Jon Hope, Paula Campbell, Big Shug and Lucky Dice. "It's extremely rare nowadays to hear someone as brutally honest as Reks. This album should give hope to many of the Hip Hop fans that have yearned for quality," says Statik Selektah.
