Product Details
While working an internship at, 19 year old LA native Shlohmo made a free online release of his original 'Shlomoshun EP'. Being part of the Dublab community, it didn't take long for the EP reach the ears of Friends Of Friends, who immediately approached him to combine new and old tracks with an assortment of remixes to create 'Shlomoshun Deluxe'.

First released digitally at the start of this year, the eight original tracks and four remixes have generated huge interest among the low-end beat-heads and abstract boom-bap-strumentalists searching for their latest fix of post-modern deconstructivist thunk, with the young producer finding his sounds aligned with luminaries like FlyLo, Nosaj Thing, Ras G and Samiyam, and lauded for a diversity of sound from the overloaded synths usually sported by Starkey and Joker, to the 8bit melodies of Disrupt or Ikonika.

With an arsenal of unique sound textures and big bass beats, Shlohmo brings a keen ear to the music he makes, using mostly found sound, fragile old gear and a laptop, all created under super lo-fi conditions ("I've had my monitors since I was 14 - the tweeters are all pushed in and there's absolutely no audible low end, so I have to physically touch the woofer to feel the vibrations from the bass and master it that way.")

With beat and soundscape arrangements that leave the listener hypnotized, the songs breath life from the organic and electronic worlds colliding. Fan favorites 'Hot Boxing The Cockpit' and 'Antigravity' place him right amongst the Brainfeeder-centred neu-bass elite, while a track like '7am' oozes Dilla-esque swagger; all the while remaining effortlessly cinematic.

Shlohmo stamps his cosmically heat-hazed originality right across this disc, with an instantly addictive syrupy psychedelic soul and distinctively delicate personality that's impossible to ignore, while the high-grade selection of re-fixes closing the set makes this release even more essential, featuring Tokimonsta (Brainfeeder), Low limit (of Lazer Sword), Fulgeance (One Handed), and DevonWho (All City Dublin).
